Approximately one year ago right before I got my DRZ 400 Suzuki. I saw gas prices starting to get ridiculous. At the time I had my '74 Blazer sitting in the garage waiting for repairs, and I was driving a van which was almost at the end of it's life. Since the Blazer gets way less than ten MPG(somewhere between 6 and 8 MPG) I decided that I would finally return to my favorite hobby, Trail Riding and get an economical vehicle at the same time so I bought the DRZ.

It's a Dirt Bike , but in Arizona it's easy to get your dirt bike Street Legal, So I was able to have my cake and eat it. I got transportation that averages better than 50 Miles Per Gallon, and my trail toy all in one package.

If you live here or in a state that allows you to "Plate" your dirt bike do it, and use it instead of your truck at least one day a week or more if possible to get around. This will mean saving you money on gas, and using less gas. If everyone would find ways to cut back on gas consumption it would mean less money for the oil companies that are screwing us at the pumps. The best revenge is to not buy so much gas. You save money and stick it to those greedy bastards that have been sucking us dry at the pumps.

I strongly encourage you to avoid buying as much gas as you can by finding other means of transporting yourself around. This is especially effective for those people that drive a large truck to work every day, just to have it sit in the sun all day waiting to take that one person back home. If enough people did this once or more times a week, we could directly effect the Oil Company's greedy pockets.

  • I find that my bicycle actually used way less gas than my motorcycle or truck....It also keeps me in good physical condition..

The main bearing on My ktm dualsport went out a few weeks ago. The is totally screwed. Since then I have taken to riding my bicycle to work. I was thinking about running out and buying a new motorcycle, but riding a bicycle is actually quite nice, At least while it is sunny out,

I really do sympathize with thos e folks who have no choice but to drive. There are lots of people out there who live in rural areas and really have no choice...
